Naantali parish will arrange a special musical divine service during the Music Festival.

This evening will flow like a dance! Now we are moving from Bach’s graceful court dances through the fast turns of Poulenc, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Golijov and Shostakovich to the spicy tangos of Piazzolla. The stars will get the tunes flying.

The popular outdoor concerts at Kultaranta will continue with a programme of music on the themes of nature and animals. Kultaranta will provide the setting for a Nature Trail from the a capella group Club For Five, and the much loved Saint-Saëns suite The Carnival of the Animals narrated by Seela Sella.

The atmosphere of Naantali Music Festival will captivate the Turku Sibelius Museum. With charmingly delicious Sibelius songs, naturally!

The concert moves from light to shadows – it’s a combination of dark clouds as well as comforting pout clouds and sunshine. A specialty is Ralf Gothoni’s Life Views themed piano concerto for two pianists.

The 80th birthday year celebrations for legendary cello artist Arto Noras, the founder and Artistic Director of Naantali Music Festival, will begin in Helsinki on 14 May with a concert featuring solo performances by Arto and an ensemble of 36 leading cellists from Finland comprising his first, second and third generation students.

The opening melodies of this concert will bring a feeling that summer has come! The opening Naantali Music Festival Opus 42 concert will express joy, lightness and masterly virtuosity. The special mood of Naantali is now here.

We await the interpretation of Schubert’s Winterreise by baritone Tommi Hakala and pianist Kristian Anttila with great interest. One thing is for sure: this journey will not leave us cold.

A pyrotechnical display of music and lyrics about love, passion and life. The unique Words & Melodies package of Iiro Rantala and Lotta Kuusisto emerged during the COVID-19 quarantine in the home of this artist couple. The performance brings together words and melodies alternately at a rapid pace, evoking a wide variety of moods with feelings of a life lived, of love and passion, and of empty nest syndrome and ageing – the most splendid and gruelling of all episodes.

Students from the Vallis Gratiae Academy will perform at the final concert of their summer camp.

Askainen Church and the choral works of contemporary composers of Marshal Mannerheim will take us on a journey into the modern history of Finland. A finely nuanced narrative to this historical excursion from the Arensky String Quartet will give everyone an opportunity to find their own story.

Come rain or shine, funny water drops and beautiful tears will be a source of fascination in the ancient church at Raisio, bringing a sense of playfulness and depth to a summer afternoon.

Meta4, one of Finland’s most successful string quartets, is visiting Naantali Music Festival again. This fascinating ensemble can be heard at Rymättylä Church with its Play III programme composed by Jaakko Kuusisto.

This concert will resemble a fine summer’s day, with music for a romantic dream and the sparkle of virtuoso performance bringing a warm glow to the cheeks.

A heart-rendingly beautiful concert experience in memory of Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki. We shall remember with gratitude this landmark composer and friend of Naantali Music Festival. His music will live on forever.

This will be the world premiere of Olli Kortekangas’ Partita Concertante, a work for cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, harp and percussion. The concert will also include Bach partitas and music by Schönberg. What a programme!

A Northern Dimension. Bright, profound and beautiful. Jaakko Kuusisto, who passed away in February 2022, was for many years a key force behind the Naantali Music Festival as a violinist, conductor and composer. The concert is a tribute to Jaakko and his magnificently diverse compositional work, which continues the tradition of the great Nordic composers and the northern dimension of music.

Our festival will conclude and culminate with a unique collection of works arranged for twelve cellos. Distinguished soprano Kaisa Ranta will join the twelve top cellists in this extraordinary concert. Could there be a more spectacular finale!
