Lahti Symphony Orchestra: Lemminkäinen
5.6.2024 @ 19:00 - 21:00
Contemporary classics meet a timeless hit by Sibelius as the internationally best-known orchestra in Finland dives into the deep end of Finnish music under the baton of Dalia Stasevska. Kaija Saariaho’s Ciel d’Hiver (Winter Sky) paints a frostbitten sky with a clear glow, and the most brilliant bassoonist of our time Bram van Sambeek shines as the main star of Jaakko Kuusisto’s concerto. The young Jean Sibelius composed a narrative suite about the heroic charmer Lemminkäinen, and its rendering has become a trademark of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra around the world.
