WINTER CONCERT: Songs from Armonlaakso – an evening with Selim Palmgren
11.3.2023 @ 19:00 - 20:15

Composer Selim Palmgren was known as the Chopin of the North, a star pianist who dazzled audiences around the world. Deep down, he always longed for his summer residence in Naantali, where the waves lapping against the shores inspired his compositions for over 50 years. This Winter Concert, dedicated to Palmgren’s national romantic music, culminates in a cantata first performed in Naantali Church in 1943 as part of the town’s 500th anniversary celebrations.
