Stories from around the world
6.6.2024 @ 19:00 - 21:00
The origins of music can be found in ancient myths and songs passed on from one generation to the next. The lullaby by the Argentinian Osvaldo Golijov is played in the klezmer genre, while in Antonín Dvořák’s serenade Slavic courtliness meets dancing peasants. Having found his home in the Hungarian tradition, Béla Bartók’s second violin sonata is a truly virtuosic piece, and Georges Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody grows into a cavalcade at a village party. On top of all this, the multi-talented South African Gareth Lubbe amazes listeners as the overtone singing viola soloist.
