Meta4 – es muss sein!

Welcome to a journey from Vienna to Rovaniemi and on to Rymättylä: Finland’s best-known string quartet Meta4 presents a tour of three works from classicism to contemporary music. Joseph Haydn solidified his reputation as the “father of the string quartet” with his airy String Quartet in C Major. His pupil Ludwig van Beethoven crowned his career with a work where the life lived can be heard in philosophical ponderings and hearty laughter. Inspired by the landscapes of Lapland, Trois Poémes by Outi Tarkiainen depicts fleeting moments with a transparent air, rich in colour, honouring the unique sublimity of the quartet sound.
