Hardly any element of nature resounds in music as clearly as the sea: its waves, its peace, its endlessness – and its unstoppable power. The soft swells and treacherous undertows of the traditional In Honorem Maris concert is provided by the music of Debussy, Fagerlund and Ravel.

 Paavali Jumppanen is one of the most active and internationally successful Finnish pianists of his generation.

Meta4

 Founded in 2001, Meta4 is one of Finland’s most successful string quartets. Its international career began with victory at the 2004 Dmitri Shostakovich Competition in Moscow.

Minna Pensola

 Violinist Minna Pensola is known as an intense performer, an inspiring orchestra leader and a soloist who puts her soul into the music. As an inspiring and enthusiastic fellow musician and teacher, she is a regular guest at many international chamber music festivals.

Atte Kilpeläinen

 Violist Atte Kilpeläinen is a member of the string quartet Meta4 and the principal viola of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tomas Djupsjöbacka

 Conductor and cellist Tomas Djupsjöbacka is known as a versatile musician with a background in chamber music.
