Enchanted forest spirits, dreamy harp chords, and suppressed heartaches – surrender to the imagination of French Romantics and witness how fantasy becomes material! The rarely heard harp virtuoso performance Conte Fantastique is André Caplet’s masterpiece: a musical poem from 1908, anticipating the soundscape of thriller movies, telling Edgar Allan Poe’s story The Masque of the Red Death. Its twists will send chills down the spine of even the most hardened horror fan.
