Turku philharmonic orchestra: Mystery and Romance
7.6.2024 @ 19:00 - 21:00
The huge popularity of the music by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt is driven by the hypnotic nature of his meditative and mysterious compositions, even producing experiences of holiness in listeners. Tabula Rasa, a concerto for two violins, has remained one of Pärt’s most beloved works for almost 50 years, and for good reason. Known for his monumental orchestral immersions of near biblical proportions, Anton Bruckner’s symphonies have been dubbed ‘cathedrals of sound’. Symphony No. 4, nicknamed “Romantic”, nourishes the mind and body and sounds best when played in the clear, resonant acoustic environment of Naantali Church.
