Söderlund’s recent roles at the Finnish National Opera have included Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Leonardo in Fagerlund’s Autumn Sonata, and Fedrik Berg in Kuusisto’s opera Ice. In the 2017-2018 seasons, Söderlund sang in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Mozart’s Magic Flute, Wagner’s Parsifal, and in the vocal quartet of Saariaho’s opera Only the Sound Remains.
In 2008-2009, Söderlund was attached to the Basel Opera in Switzerland. He made his début at Savonlinna Opera Festival in 2014. Besides the Nordic countries, Söderlund has performed as an oratorio and passion soloist, and in his own lied and church concerts in Italy, Austria, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Estonia.
He is also a particularly active performer of new Finnish music, and has premiered works by Olli Kortekangas, Jouni Kaipainen, Pasi Lyytikäinen, Jukka Linkola, Juhani Haapasalo and Harri Kerko.
