Angervo also studied at the Berlin School of the Arts in 1988–90 under Wolfram Christ and he also studied further with Matti Hirvikanka and Rainer Moog. Angervo was the principal viola of the Finnish National Opera Orchestra from 1987 to 1988. Ilari Angervo is a founding member of the renowned New Helsinki Quartet. The quartet’s has been one of the country’s leading chamber music ensembles for 30 years and is still performing actively.
In addition to his own ensemble, Angervo is also visiting international orchestral frequently. The Super World Orchestra in Japan and the World Orchestra in Korea have been interesting and inspiring events in the Far East. In addition to Finnish orchestras, Angervo has toured in Europe with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Oslo Philharmonic and the Orquestra de Qadacues in Spain.
Angervo has performed e.g. with RSO and most other Finnish orchestras. He has also played as a soloist in several European countries as well as in Japan.
